The Fairhall Family

Welcome to my Fairhall Family files.

Basic data for over 18,800 known descendants and wider family of William and Ann (Huntley) Fairhall, who came to Australia from East Sussex in 1838 aboard the "Maitland".
My wife's Betts family is also included.
I would welcome contact from those included, or their relatives,
to add to or update the family information recorded here.

There will be a Fairhall Family Reunion in November.
Family members should contact Bruce to register for newsletters if they have not already done so.
Because I'm making that task my priority, I do not plan to update the data here until after the Reunion,
but additions, corrections and other family information are always welcome.
That data will be included in future web updates.

BACKGROUND

The data here was compiled with lots of help from family members, other researchers and many reference sources. I started the project in 1966 (but I had quite a few years off!), with the aim of documenting the "family tree", and along the way some data was collected on other branches and associated families.

It was only with the adoption of The Master Genealogist software, and over a year spent transferring a few thousand index cards onto the computer database, that it really became possible to include data from further afield. So, my hobby became a "one-name study" of the Fairhall/Fairall name world wide, with added details of many associated families.

At this point in time, over 29,000 individuals are included in the total world-wide study.

For privacy reasons, photographs and data for living people are excluded from the content shown on this internet site.
